Frequently Asked

Window & door questions, answered honestly.

How long does a whole-home window replacement take?

Most whole-home projects are 3–7 days total for standard windows, up to 10 days for full impact-rated with custom sizes. Individual openings take 1–3 hours each. We work in phases so you're never without secure windows overnight.

Do I need impact-rated windows in Brevard County?

It depends on your location. Coastal areas (within the wind-borne debris region — most of Brevard's east side) require impact glass or shutters by Florida Building Code for new construction and major renovations. For existing homes, upgrades are optional but strongly recommended — they replace hurricane shutters, reduce noise, and often lower insurance premiums enough to offset the cost.

What's the difference between impact-rated and hurricane shutters?

Impact glass is permanent, tested to withstand a 9-lb 2x4 at 34 mph, and requires no action during a storm. Shutters are removable protection you deploy before a storm. Impact glass costs more upfront but adds home value, cuts insurance premiums, provides sound and UV protection year-round, and never needs to be put up or taken down.

Do I need permits to replace my windows?

Yes — Brevard County requires a permit for any window or door replacement. We pull the permit as part of the project and handle the required inspection. This is important: unpermitted window work can cause insurance and resale issues later.

What warranty do I get on new windows and doors?

Manufacturer warranties on windows are typically 10–20 years on frame/glass and lifetime on hardware — varies by brand and product line. We register your warranty for you. On top of the manufacturer's warranty, we back our installation labor with our own workmanship warranty.

Can you match my existing home's exterior style?

Yes. Most modern window and door lines come in traditional and contemporary profiles, multiple frame colors (white, bronze, black, custom), grid patterns, and finish options. We help you match your home's architecture so the new windows look intentional, not aftermarket.
